The 'Most' and 'Least' Important Numerology Numbers

Some numerology numbers are more important than other numbers. That is to say, some have more influence in your life than others.

There are numerology chart numbers and there are off-chart numbers.

Generally, chart numbers are more important than off-chart numbers, except when knowledge of an off-chart number's influence is needed. As an example, the resonance of a house number is most important when you want to know how that resonance tends to add tone to your life.

Chart numbers are numbers with calculations based on a name or birth date. The results of these calculations have labels and positions in numerology charts.

Off-chart numbers are numbers with calculations based on anything else, such as telephone numbers, residence numbers, color names, and marriage dates.

The importance of a numerology-calculated number, for this article, is determined by how much effect the number has and how long its effects persist.

As a sidenote, the importance of certain numbers differ for specialized readings such as compatibility or career. This article is about the importance of numbers for general individual numerology readings.

The 'Most Important' Numerology Numbers

The two most important numerology numbers (neither of the two being more important than the other) are the name number, referred to as the destiny number, and the birth date number, referred to as the life path number.

Those two numbers are the most important because they're calculated directly from the information all other numerology chart numbers are calculated from. The energies they represent have the most force, last an entire lifetime, and are the basic resonance upon which all other numerology aspects rest.

(Names can be changed. But the energy represented by the name first recorded at birth is always present.)

The 'Nearly Most Important' Numbers

There are three numbers at this level of importance — the two other major name numbers and the power number.

The other other major name numbers are:

The number calculated from the vowels of the name (the heart's desire number).
The number calculated from the consonants of the name (the personality number).

The two are considered slightly less important than the destiny number because they represent an aspect of the name rather than the entire name.

The power number is calculated from both the destiny number and the life path number. Although it's calculated from both of those most important numbers, it's considered slightly less important because it's force is dormant for the first forty years or so of a person's life.

The 'Next Important' Numerology Numbers

Numerous numbers are at the next level of importance. They are cycles lasting a year or longer.

There are four different cycles lasting a year or longer:

The pinnacle cycle.
The life period cycle.
The challenges (partially cyclic).
The personal year.

The challenges are partially cyclic because one of the challenge numbers is in force the entire lifetime and the other challenge numbers occur in cycles.

The personal year, the shortest cycle on the list, has importance because it's yearly altered effects generally are enough to be noticeable as distinct from the previous cycle. The longer-period cycles are less likely to be noticed as much (even though their energy is present) because the changes occur only after long intervals.

The 'Less Important' Numerology Numbers

The less important numerology numbers are both chart numbers and off-chart numbers. Generally, the relative importance of the calculated numbers on this list (compared to other numbers) depends on the individual's life and their interests and on what they consider to be important for themself.
