Name Change Effects

A name change can have a profound effect on a person — or hardly any effect at all.

Names represent certain numerology energy. It is persistent, a subtle but constant nudge. Although free will always prevails, the energy tends to eventually find a way to express itself.

When the name energy does manifest, its effect depends much on the energy represented by the person's birth name and, to a lesser extent, the energies represented by other numbers of the person's numerology chart. This article addresses some of the effects a birth name can have on a new name.

The more a person identifies themself as their new name, the more influence the energy it represents will have — and the less influence the birth name energy will have.

Because it takes some time for a person to identify themself fully with their new name, the effects of a name change aren't immediately apparent. It may take a little or a lot of time for an individual to transfer their entire assumption of identity to the new name.

It's a gradual process.

The energy represented by the new name commingles with the energy of the birth name. The more the person sees themself as the new name, the more influence the new name energy has, with a correspondingly less influence of birth name energy.

Although its influence may wane, and may even become pseudo dormant, the birth name energy never goes away.

Before a new name is assigned, it's important to predict the effects each of the core numbers are likely to have on a person's life with the proposed new name. There are other important numbers, but paying attention to the core numbers is essential.

Let's take the destiny core number as an example.

• Identical
  When both the birth and new name destiny numbers are identical, the influence of the energy represented by that number is enhanced.

• Incompatible
  When the destiny numbers of the two names are incompatible, then the person may experience a degree of internal conflict until transition to new name identification is complete.

• Compatible
  When the destiny numbers of the two names are compatible, they tend to enhance each other, making each number's influence stronger than it otherwise would have been.

• No Match

  • When no core numbers of the new name match the destiny number of the birth name, then the new name is likely to reduce the effect of the birth name destiny energy.

  • When no core numbers of the birth name match the destiny number of the new name, then the new name is introducing new destiny energy.

The above list can apply to each of the core numbers.

A name change can have a life-long effect. A few calculations and interpretations, perhaps also a consultation with a numerologist specializing in name changes, can provide an understanding of potentials and possibilities and may spare a lot of misery.

If a numerologist is consulted, have them also consider the interactions between the new name energy and the energy represented by the pinnacle cycle numbers, the life period cycle numbers, and the challenge numbers. Although of less importance, they can and do have an effect on a person's life, sometimes a strong or surprising effect.
