A Description of Numerology

A clear description of numerology includes an overview of how numerology works.

This description is derived from the understandings of a Pythagorean numerologist with over 30 years experience.

Numerology reveals tendencies and likelihoods. Mathematical calculations result in numbers, which represent certain energies. It is the influence of those energies that bestow the tendencies and make certain things more likely.

That's the gist of numerology.

The reliability of numerological forecasts can be compared to the reliability of weather forecasts by meteorologists.

• Weather forecasts are likely to be correct, or mostly correct, but weather patterns can change before their forecast is manifested.

• Numerology forecasts are likely to be correct, or mostly correct, but are subject to the free will of the person the calculations apply to.

Although numerology uses mathematical calculations to arrive at numerical results and the numbers accurately represent certain energies, the revelations are not predeterminations. Instead, as noted, tendencies and likelihoods are revealed.

No belief or faith in numerology is required. It works the same whether or not believed (although active disbelief may prevent awareness of evidence supporting the results).

Numerology Chart

The results of numerology calculations are entered into a chart.

Each position in a numerology chart has a name. As an example, the position where the birth date number calculation is placed is named "life path."

Being familiar with the energy the number represents, an interpretation can be composed that relates to the numerology chart position where the number is located.

Different numerologists will use different words and may interpret the same number in the same chart position in different ways. The interpretation is based on their knowledge of the energy represented by that number as it relates to the position in the chart.

In essence, all that numerology does is reveal influence. The tendencies and likelihoods exist. No belief is required.

As an example, the person with a certain birthdate number is more likely to experience events and circumstances of a certain type or class than does the person with a different birthdate number. It's a statement that things are likely to happen that way. Not always. But often.

Similarly, a person with a certain name number tends to be more interested in a certain type or class of things than the person with a different name number. It's a statement that things tend to be that way. Not always. But often.

Through it all, free will prevails.

What a person decides to do or think or pursue is more compelling than numerology. The tendencies and likelihoods numerology represents make certain activities easier and certain approaches more likely, but numerology never puts a chokehold on free will.

Use numerology as a guide.

Understanding your own tendencies and knowing what types of things or events are likely to happen at certain points in the future can be a guide through the unexpected.
